The hardest thing about duck hunting in Georgia is finding the ducks. We have taken care of that part. Located in the heart of Georgia is the kaolin belt with its many ponds left over from the strip mining operation of years gone by. These ponds make an ideal environment for ducks and duck hunting. During prior Georgia duck season we have taken mergansers, gadwall, ringnecks, mallards, bluebills, wood ducks, buffleheads, redheads and 2 canvasbacks. The vast majority being wood ducks and mallards. In addition we saw one pintail last season which is the first and only one I have ever seen in the past 20 years of duck hunting in Georgia.
In addition to wild ducks Black Creek conducts an early release of mallards prior to and during the season to assure members enjoy some of the best duck hunting that Georgia has to offer.
The experience begins an hour before daylight as everyone gathers tat the lodge to get their blinds. For hunters not staying at The Lodge we ask that you arrive at least one and a half hours prior to sunrise.
The 15 ponds are hunted by only one group at the time. Some ponds set up for multiple blinds where a members and their guest may wish to utilize both blinds depending on the conditions.
Black Creek offers duck hunting by membership only. Membership options are based on the total number of ducks taken throughout the season. This format allows for the most flexibility for the variety of hunting styles of the different members. All the details visit Duck Hunting Membership.
We encourage you to bring your duck call and retrievers but please remember to keep both under control. The duck hunting blinds accommodate 4 hunters and limited gear. Members are responsible for putting out your own decoys and recovering your own ducks as well as calling. A boat/kayak will be available for your use if needed. With advance notice duck hunting guides with decoys can be arranged
If you have any questions or wish to schedule and interview or visit please call, text or email us.
