Black Creek Plantation caters to unguided or self guided quail hunters and does not offer guided hunts. Hunters and their guest will enjoy bobwhite quail hunting in plantation style. Guest will experience fast paced quail hunting over your dogs. You can literally hunt out the front door of the lodge or on of the other other quail hunting courses which offer varying degrees of difficulty.
The Quail Courses
The quail hunting courses vary in size, habitat and difficulty. Our open fields with planted crops are the easiest and recommended for the novice hunter or someone wishing to get their pup off on the right foot. For those quail hunters looking for the additional challenge of hunting plantation pines we have multiple courses to choose from as well as quail course mixed a mix of both pines and open fields. Reservations must be made in advance and require a deposit to hold for non-members.
Quail Hunting Options
Self-Guided Quail Hunting - Day Hunts
Unguided or self guided Quail Hunts (15 birds) - Half day hunt. Morning quail hunts are 8am - Noon. Afternoon quail hunts are 1pm - 5pm. No guides or dogs provided. If you desire to have additional birds released prior to your hunt this can be arranged with advance notice and an additional fee.
1 - 2 hunters - $395
Additional hunters - $50/hunter
Additional birds released - $10/bird
Self Guided Quail Hunting Membership
Designed for the bird dog owner that are looking for additional quality habitat to hunt their personal dogs. Our quail hunting membership includes access to quail hunting grounds for self guided quail hunting from mid- November through March 31st. Bird dog training is allowed on the property from May 1st - July 31st.
100 quail are included in the cost. 20 bird minimum per hunt. Additional quail can be arranged. Members can plant their own birds or we can plant them for you for a $25 planting fee. Additional quail were priced at $7/bird in the '23-24 season.
We currently have 6 courses ready to hunt. The average course is 50 acres and are reserved on a first come basis. Reservations are for a half-day at a time. Full day reservations will be accommodated according to availability.
We have onsite lodging available. Dogs are NOT allowed inside The Lodge. Members must provide their own kennels due to health concerns. There are a total of 10 memberships. The cost is $1750.
